A Gloucester man was sentenced to jail time by Judge Joseph Jennings after pleading guilty to a pair of theft charges.
Robert F. Capozzi, 31, of 23 Duncan St., Gloucester, was sentenced to one year in jail on two counts of larceny and two counts of receiving stolen property.
The charges against Capozzi stem from an Aug. 19 incident in which he stole car keys from two patrons at the Cape Ann YMCA.

An off-duty Niles police officer helped capture a man who allegedly stole items from a Park Ridge store and punched the employee who confronted him.
On Wednesday afternoon a 29-year-old employee of Walgreens, 901 W. Touhy Ave., was attempting to stop a man from leaving the store with several unpaid items he was seen placing in a bag, said Park Ridge Police Cmdr. Lou Jogmen.

New green-lettered signs lie outside the public works building taking shape at 40185 Glendale Ave.
The mainstay of the project, a 10,000-square-foot pole barn, will be occupied in January and officials are anxious to get crews moved in.
"We had to have (the new facility)," said Mayor Milt Jensen.
"We didn't have any choice."

The city will embrace more than 500 military men and women at the second annual Highwood for the Holidays and Tree Lighting on Dec. 5.
Servicemen and women stationed at Naval Station Great Lakes and Fort Sheridan Reserve will be saluted from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Everts Park, behind the Highwood post office, 130 Highwood Ave.
